SAY HELLO TO BEMBA
Continued development of Enduro mountain bike racing in Britain

What is BEMBA

BEMBA is a non-profit organization that contributes to the continued development of "Enduro" mountain bike racing in Britain.

In the absence of a national body for MTB Enduro racing a collection of the race organisers got together to create a common rule book and safety guidelines. The aim is to ensure that racers know what to expect and that the event will be run in a professional and safe manor.

What is Enduro

Enduro mountain bike racing is designed to be the definitive test for the mountain biker, with the focus of each event on creating a great atmosphere, community, competition and adventure for the competitor, including the best riding on the best terrain accessible from the event venue. The format allows riders to compete against each other, starting individually, on multiple special stages which are designed to challenge the rider's technical ability and physical capacity. Our guidelines and rules based on those from EMBA, BC and the UCI aim to define the British enduro mountain bike discipline while still allowing space for each event to add their own individual characteristics to each event.

Who are BEMBA

The U.K's key mountain bike enduro organisers met resulting in the creation of a common rulebook as well as event guidelines. Without a national governing body for British Enduro, the aim of this agreement was to ensure the long-term future of Enduro. These meetings will continue to be a regular occurrence and we welcome the attendance and inclusion of all parties wishing to organise enduro events in the U.K.

The group currently has representatives from 'Ard Rock, British Enduro Series, Manx MTB Enduro, Mini Enduro, NDH, PMBA Enduro Series, Scottish Enduro Series, South West Enduro Series, Southern Enduro Series, Tweedlove, UK Enduro Series, UKGE, Welsh Enduro Series and Welsh Gravity Enduro Series. 3X World Enduro Champion Tracy Moseley acting as a rider rep. The meetings are chaired by Alastair Mackinlay.
